Who is a Good Candidate for a Dental Crown?

Dental crowns can be the answer to a variety of different issues. Typically, your dentist in Arlington recommends this treatment when teeth are severely decayed, chipped or cracked, or they can also be used to fix aesthetic issues like severe discoloration and shape. At your examination, our team will be sure to walk you through all of your treatment options and educate you on the pros and cons of each. That way, if you decide a dental crown is right for you, you’ll feel absolutely confident moving forward with your treatment.

The Dental Crown Process

Getting a dental crown typically takes two to three separate appointments that occur over the course of several weeks. First, our team will capture a digital impression with our Trios digital scanner. This will then be sent off to our dental lab to craft your crown. After the restoration is complete, we’ll call you back in to make sure it’s an ideal fit and cement it onto your tooth. We strive for perfection, so if the fit isn’t right, we’ll send the crown back to the lab for adjustment, which could add an additional visit onto the process.
